Wireless without Borders is a project conceived, elaborated and coordinated by the iXem Labs of the
Electronic Department of Politecnico di Torino and the College of Engineering of Qatar University.
The aim is to bring access to the Information for free in Developing Countries, in areas where Digital
Inclusion has not been realized yet.
Thanks to the founding opportunities provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the
Laboratorio ICT of Regione Piemonte, regions are being selected in Africa, South America and Far Eastern Asia,
for the construction of low cost wireless infrastructures, through which Internet access and basic social
services can be guaranteed at zero cost for the population.
The first trial is being realized in the State of Comoros Island, Eastern Asia, one of the most beautiful places in the World,
with the lowest GDP per capita
