HIGHLIGHTED

Among the numerous research projects in which the iXem Labs have been involved in the last years, we list here a selection, representative of our main research activities.

iXem Record
project was conducted during Spring 2007 and allowed the test of long distance backhaul transmitters constructed in our Labs. A total of 10 partners, coordinated by our Labs, participated to this activity.

WaterMole 2009
project is a relevant project funded by the Qatar National Research Fund, under the National Research Priority Program. The objective is the construction of a Wireless Sensor Network platform, able to detect leakages in water pipe networks. It is carried out by iXem Labs and Qatar University.

Wireless for Inclusion in Amazon 2008
project was granted with an award by the Interamerican Development Bank, in the framework of the Innovation for Inclusion Program. The objective is the realization of a wireless newtork for social assistance to rural communities living in Eastern Ecuador.

Verrua senza Fili
project has been launched on Summer 2010. With a partnership formed by the iXem Labs, the Verrua Savoia Municipality, the Consortium Top-Ix, the objective is a three year on–field test of low cost transmission systems, in order to check their reliability providing wideband connectivity to rural areas.

Wireless for Africa
project was granted with an award by the Foreign Ministry of Qatar in the framework of the Innovation for Inclusion Program, in collaboration with the World Bank. The objective is the realization of the whole wireless coverage of the three Islands that constitute the beautiful Comorian archipelago.
